Ensuring Quality That Speaks
Through Every Tile

At AQS, Unglazed Porcelain Tiles undergo rigorous testing — from raw materials to final finish.
Our quality control process ensures your walls reflect not just beauty, but trust

Unglazed Porcelain Tiles

Unglazed porcelain tiles are full-body, industrial-grade tiles designed for high-traffic and outdoor areas, featuring through-body color and exceptional abrasion resistance. Unlike glazed tiles, their color and pattern run throughout, making them highly durable under heavy use.

At AQS, we conduct comprehensive inspections of unglazed porcelain tiles, focusing on dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and structural integrity, ensuring each tile meets international standards for performance and durability.

AQS Testing Parameters
AQS Inspection Process for
Unglazed Porcelain Tiles

We implement rigorous inspection protocols for unglazed porcelain tiles, focusing on dimensional precision, surface consistency, and structural strength. Our detailed checks ensure each tile is abrasion-resistant, defect-free, and ready for heavy-duty applications in industrial and high-traffic areas.

Factory Visit & Production Verification

The inspection begins by confirming the produced quantity against the client’s purchase order, verifying that the entire batch is ready for inspection.

Warehouse Physical
Stock Check

We inspect the warehouse to verify:

  • Stock is well-segregated and labeled by batch/shade
  • Proper stacking and pallet organization
  • No visible transport or storage damage

02

AQL-Based
Random Sampling

Boxes are selected randomly using AQL sampling standards from multiple pallets and locations to ensure full-lot representation.

03

Box Weight
Measurement

Each selected box is weighed using a calibrated digital scale to detect :

  • Under/overweight boxes
  • Moisture retention
  • Inconsistencies in tile count or packing

04

Transfer to
QC Area

Boxes are moved to a clean, level QC area inside the factory for further testing under controlled lighting and conditions

05

Box Artwork &
Packaging Check

We verify:

  • Product code, batch, and shade number
  • Size and thickness markings
  • Factory logo, branding (if any), and label position
  • Consistency with client-approved packaging format

06

Internal Packing &
Tile Protection Check

We inspect the internal packaging, ensuring :

  • Use of separator sheets between tiles
  • Corner protectors or spacers (if applicable)
  • Proper alignment and clean packing

Unglazed tiles are typically heavier and denser — requiring reliable protection during transit

07

Tile Laying & Visual
Surface Inspection

Tiles are laid on the floor to simulate real installation. Our inspection includes:

  • Surface quality: pores, spots, material inclusions, visible cracks
  • Color uniformity within and across boxes (especially for full-body tiles)
  • Joint alignment and tile squareness
  • Edge quality and machining precision

Although these tiles are not glossy, we check for homogeneous texture and clean finishes.

08

Reference Tile
Comparison (if provided)

If the client has supplied a master reference tile, we compare:

  • Color tone and surface grain
  • Texture and body consistency
  • Suitability for wall cladding systems, elevation mounting, or Accuracy of double-loading or speckled patterns (if applicable)

09

Technical Testing & Performance
Evaluation (ISO Standards)

The final report includes:

  • Size, Thickness & Diagonal Measurement (ISO 10545-2)
  • Flatness & Warpage Check (ISO 10545-2)
  • Water Absorption (ISO 10545-3)
  • Breaking Strength & Modulus of Rupture (ISO 10545-4)
  • Abrasion Resistance (ISO 10545-6)
  • Scratch Resistance (Mohs Scale)
  • Slip Resistance / Anti-Skid Rating (DIN / R Rating)
  • Stain & Chemical Resistance (ISO 10545-13 & 14)

10

Final Reporting &
Inspection Summary

All inspection findings are compiled into a detailed PDF report including:

  • Tile photos (visuals, laid view, defects)
  • Size, thickness, warpage, and absorption test results
  • Surface defect remarks
  • Inspector comments and pass/fail status

The report is delivered within 24 hours of inspection completion.
