Through Every Tile

At AQS, Ceramic Floor Tiles undergo rigorous testing — from raw materials to final finish.
Our quality control process ensures your walls reflect not just beauty, but trust

Ceramic Floor Tiles

Ceramic floor tiles combine aesthetic appeal with robust functionality, making them a preferred choice for both residential and commercial spaces. Available in various finishes and patterns, these tiles require stringent quality checks to maintain structural integrity, dimensional precision, and surface durability. At AQS, we conduct comprehensive inspections to ensure that every tile meets the highest standards, minimizing potential defects before they reach the client.

AQS Testing Parameters
AQS Inspection Process for
Ceramic Floor Tiles

We apply rigorous inspection protocols to ensure every ceramic tile meets the highest standards for structural integrity, surface durability, and dimensional accuracy. Our comprehensive checks safeguard against defects, protecting clients from costly installation issues and quality disputes.

Factory Visit & Order
Quantity Verification

We start by confirming that the quantity produced matches the client’s purchase order. This ensures all goods are ready for inspection and helps identify any shortage or production imbalance.

01

Warehouse Stock
Verification

Our inspector checks the physical availability and organization of the produced material in the warehouse. Proper segregation and pallet labeling are verified.

02

Random Sampling from
Different Batches

We select random boxes from different pallets based on AQL guidelines to ensure representative coverage of the entire production lot.

03

Box Weight
Check

Each sampled box is weighed using a digital scale to detect:

  • Underfilled or overfilled packaging
  • Moisture retention
  • Tile count or packing irregularities

04

Transfer to
Factory QC Area

Selected boxes are brought to the designated QC area where inspection will be carried out under proper lighting and clean conditions.

05

Box Labeling &
Artwork Check

Box Labeling & Artwork Check:

  • Product name and design code
  • Size and shade number
  • Factory code and manufacturing details

These are matched with the client's approved artwork and packing specifications.

06

Internal
Packaging Inspection

Before removing tiles, we inspect the internal packing:

  • Surface protection between tiles (butter paper/foam)
  • Corner protectors
  • Stacking alignment
  • Box strength and sealing

07

Tile Laying & Visual
Surface Inspection

Tiles are laid flat to simulate floor installation. We check:

  • Surface defects: pinholes, chips, edge damage, glaze issues
  • Color shade and gloss consistency
  • Print alignment and design accuracy
  • Joint alignment and grout gap visibility
  • Finish consistency (matt, glossy, satin, etc.)

08

Comparison with
Master Sample

The laid tiles are compared to the client-approved reference tile to confirm:

  • Design match
  • Surface texture and gloss level
  • Color and print uniformity

Any deviation is documented and sent for client review.

09

Technical Testing &
Measurements

Using multiple-point measurements, we check:

  • Size, Thickness & Diagonal Accuracy (ISO 10545-2)
  • Flatness & Warpage (ISO 10545-2)
  • Breaking Strength & Modulus of Rupture (ISO 10545-4)
  • Surface Abrasion Resistance (ISO 10545-7)
  • Scratch Resistance (Mohs Scale Test)
  • Water Absorption Test (ISO 10545-3)
  • Slip Resistance (if applicable)
  • Permanent Marker / Stain Resistance Test
  • Gloss Meter Reading / L Value (if applicable)

10

Final Report
Submission

All results — from visual checks to technical test outcomes — are compiled into a detailed inspection report. It includes:

  • High-resolution images
  • Size charts and test results
  • Observations and remarks
  • Approval status or corrective recommendations

The report is shared with the client within 24 hours to support fast, informed decision-making.

11

Why It Matters

Floor tiles are subjected to continuous foot traffic, heavy furniture, and routine cleaning, making them more prone to wear and damage than wall tiles. Ensuring structural integrity, precise dimensions, and surface durability is crucial to prevent costly rework and installation failures.

At AQS, our inspection process goes beyond aesthetics, focusing on mechanical strength, slip resistance, and abrasion testing to verify that each tile is not only visually flawless but also robust enough to withstand real-world conditions without compromising quality or safety.
